Few things in this world offer me more comfort than a bowl of pasta. I have loved pasta for as long as I can remember.
As the weather gets chilly, it’s time to make chili! There are so many ways to make chili and unlike martinis, I will not tell you the correct way to make it.
The martini. Was it named for the Italian vermouth founder, Alessandro Martini? Or after the Martinez Cocktail, created in Martinez, California? Or after the Martini & Henry rifle “as the strength of the cocktail mimicked the gun’s infamous kick”?
In anticipation of the cold months ahead, might I introduce you to one of my favorite soups? pasta e fagioli. Translation: pasta and beans.
My dream in life is to be regularly woken up with breakfast in bed. My reality is that I am likely preparing my own breakfast tray and then precariously returning to bed with it, attempting not to dump coffee over my sheets.
Party tricks have their place in the world and knowing what that place is, is as important as honing your party trick.
My sister, Romy, and I regularly make grilled pizza over the summer. Without fail though, one of us has a minor panic about the process because no matter how many times we’ve done it before, something is always different.
Sometimes simplicity is the way to go and this breakfast set up is easy and delicious.

Nothing signals summer quite like a lobster roll and it’s a dinner party dish that is sure to please.
Apologies for the redundancy but frying chicken deserves more than a recipe card. I would like to make certain difficult culinary endeavors easier for you, the reader and hopefully you, the cook.

Pardon me as I make a bold statement: fried chicken is a failsafe crowd pleaser. It’s safe to assume it is not a meal people eat regularly and so they are often delighted by being served a crispy, crunchy, salty platter of fried chicken. It is a great casual food but is equally as fun to serve at a fancy dinner.

I have always loved the idea of a picnic. Packing a picnic basket, complete with a cute blanket is right up my alley.

For me, a salad is only a full meal if protein is included. A simple mixed green salad is a side or an appetizer, not an actual meal! This salad is a great springtime dish to serve as its filling but not too heavy. Though I do question if I can really call it a salad though because it’s really about the steak.
Carving a chicken is easier than you think!

If you know how to turn on an oven, you can roast a chicken. It is truly one of the easiest things to make and it’s sure to impress. And if you can roast a chicken, you can certainly roast some vegetables.

Despite its name, a cocktail hour doesn’t need to include cocktails or be limited to an hour. Wine or beer will suffice; even a mocktail will do. Speaking of, I recently had a Shirley Temple and honestly, they’re just as delicious as an adult. In my book, snacks are required but any snack will do.
No matter the number of guests or the size of the table, I like to include placecards. I believe it is the easiest way to make your guests feel comfortable at your table.

In the interest of full disclosure, I don’t really like to watch golf, nor do I play golf. The few times I’ve swung a golf club, I was pretty subpar (did I just make a golf pun?!). But I love a good theme so while golf is not a sport I love, it is a theme I’ll embrace.
When I host people for a meal, I try not to repeat what I serve but there are some meals that are just too good and this is one of them.

This meal is a subtle ode to Easter and Passover. It is not meant to be religious in celebration, rather just my representation of my two sides.
